Riley cat inspired a first attempt at a homophonic poem.


Riley is a literary cat,
the kind that likes tall tales.
He can write one out in a jiff
with his right paw and tail.

The stories that he likes to tell
are at least ten stories high,
of mice that sing and dogs that dance
And birds that cannot fly.

Once he penned while in his pen
eight poems while eating steak.
With much at stake, he penned four more
to pay for the steak he ate.
